Should you be moving to Atlanta?
You’ve heard all those wonderful stories about it, you’ve gone to visit your friends, and now you’ve finally decided. You’re moving to Atlanta. The first thing you do is try to contact a realtor. No, you can’t do that, it’s the middle of the night. So, you do what comes naturally in this technologically advanced society that we live in, you turn to the greatest resource available at your fingertips. No, not the yellow pages, but the internet pages. You go to your favorite search engine and type in the words ‘Atlanta, Georgia Real Estate’.
You’re bombarded by a barrage of information, mostly about Atlanta realtors and what they can do for you. Not exactly what you were looking for, but you persevere. Soon thereafter, reality comes crashing in and instead of looking for homes in Atlanta that you could move to, you start looking for details to decide which neighborhood you should live in, and whether it’s safe for your kids.
With a population of around 4.5 million people in the Atlanta metropolitan area alone, Atlanta is supposed to be the eleventh largest city in America. Not a small feat considering the competition. And potentially worrisome for you. With so many people abiding in Atlanta, are you really going to find the perfect place for you to live.
Will you be happy living in a city that’s as densely populated as Atlanta? A resounding yes! should be your answer. You’ve already been there, you know how peaceful and homey it can be, after all that’s why you decided to move to Atlanta in the first place.
So, you vault over your first hurdle, and move on to the next one. Will your kids be happy, and what does Atlanta have to offer in the way of schools and parks for your kids to play around in.
Schools are definitely not a problem. Schools in the Atlanta area are the some of the finest in the country, and are welcoming and open to new students. Ranging from elementary schools, to universities, you’ll also be able to find a number of private schools dotting the Atlanta area.
As for suitable parks, and perhaps even camps for your children to go to, there are many to choose from. You’ll be able to put your mind at rest with such options as Camp Kingfisher in the Chattahoochee NatureĀ Center, or even the more grander scale Centennial Olympic Park where you can go with your family to enjoy amazing Fourth of July celebrations.
By now,you’ll slowly be feeling your initial panic and doubts receding as you realise that moving to Atlanta is still the right thing for you to do. So, you resume your search for Atlanta homes once more, wading eagerly through the reams and reams of Atlanta homelistings, and ‘Homes for Sale in Atlanta’ ads that you’ve come across.
Naturally at this stage you’ll be wanting to set a tentative price tag on your prospective home. If you look closely you’ll find that real estate in Atlanta isn’t as pricey as you thought, and you should be able to look around for something in the general vicinity of about $150,000. So, it’s settled, the minute you wade through all though gorgeous Atlanta homes and find the right one for you, you’re moving.
A yawn overtakes you. You’ve found out all this information and it’s only two o’clock in the morning. You pat yourself on the back for a job well done and take yourself off to catch a few zzzz’s while you still can. After all you not only found pertinent details about Atlanta, Georgia real estate options, and potential homes in Atlanta, but you managed to find a great camp to send your kids to in the summer as well.
